SOhome launch Bergen Cabling
- The philosophy of the concept is to solve Maritime LAN in the lifetime of a vessel with all cabling DNV approved. The Bergen Cabling Solution is based on a Cat.7 copper cable (900 MHz) with SHF1 low smoke and halogen free sheet that also gives a certain resistance for oil and chemicals (See datasheet). This cable will give a good signal budget for transmission up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Together with the fully screened Cat.6A connector we have an excellent class EA link for 10 Gigabit, tested and verified by Delta and DNV. Same snap in connector is used in patch panels and for the outlets.
- For installation prepared for higher bandwidth we add a very strong fiber cable OS2 with a Kevlar yarn (Bend Bright) around 2 single mode fibers together with the Cat.7 cable. This can be installed immediately or saved for future installations. The hybrid Patchpanel is made for 12 ports RJ45 and 12 ports LC duplex adaptors. It will be the owner’s choice to decide if the fibers shall be stored on a tray or spliced with pigtails. All the patch panels are made of stainless steel with a design for vessels and taken care of the vibration problems. In the range we have added patch panels for LC fiber optic, BNC and XLR in the range, as well as patch guides also in stainless steel.
- The wall outlets for Cat.6A snap in are of LSOH and 100% recyclable plastic. Everything is screwed together with regard to vibration on the vessels. Hybrid wall outlet will be a double box with half for fiber and half for copper. This covers the connection for the hybrid cable. If the fiber shall not be used, we just add a blind cover.
- The patch cords in Bergen Cabling are all Cat.6A. Our screened patch cords are all grey, and unscreened are white. When an installation need a galvanic separation we will use unscreened patch cords at the outlet side, and screened in the cabinets that needed to be grounded.
- For fiber optic we can deliver all interfaces in our modular Patchpanel, even . In the range are also 12 colored pigtails for fiber optic cables as well as pigtail of 2 colors for the Hybrid solution. Basic are all pigtail Singlemode with LC interfaces. Other solutions on request.
- Fiber optic patch cords in all interfaces both single and multimode. Also including stainless steel armored patch cords .
- For land based environment we have made equal solution without screws and a Cat.7A cable. ( See datasheets ).
